Today, The Shawshank Redemption enjoys a position that's arguably even higher than the two classics which eclipsed it… While this movie wasn't made for me (made for high school junior boys who gave up team sports to spend more time fishing in retention ponds) I still enjoy it! The movie revolves around Andy's take on this drastic transformation, his journey as an inmate in the prison during which he befriends Red, a fellow inmate as well as gains the respect of his friends. The Shawshank Redemption is an uplifting, deeply satisfying prison drama with sensitive direction and fine performances.

The Shawshank Redemption is one of those movies with an extremely high rewatch value, in my opinion.
